This summer, a team from Panasonic TOUGHBOOK successfully completed Tough Mudder South West, raising over £2,00 for Cardiff’s local hospice.

Taking on muddy obstacles, icy waters, and gruelling endurance tests, 11 employees pulled together to cross the finish line.

Rachael Pugh, European Partner Marketing & Enablement, said:

“We had such a great time. It was hard, but we really pulled together as a team to get to the end. We came away covered in cuts and bruises, but we’re ecstatic with the amount of money we raised, and we really hope it will make a difference to the beneficiaries of City Hospice”.

The event was a true test of teamwork, with each member supporting one another through every challenge along the course.

Ethan Mahoney, Mechanical Design Engineer, added:

“It wasn’t a single person event – you really had to work as a team to get through it! We had a lot of fun doing it, but of course, always with the great cause we were fundraising for in the back of our minds.”

Despite the aches and pains, the team reflected on the pride of having completed such a difficult challenge and the positive impact their fundraising efforts would have.

Also reflecting on the challenge, Steffen Braun, Supply Chain Management Team Leader, said:

“I was battered and bruised afterwards, but glad I did it. I really enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone who donated.”

City Hospice is Cardiff’s local hospice, providing care, support, and compassion to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The funds raised by Panasonic TOUGHBOOK will go directly towards helping the charity continue its vital work in the community.

Nicky Piper, Corporate Relationships Manager at City Hospice, said:

“We are so grateful to the Panasonic TOUGHBOOK team for taking on such a tough challenge in support of City Hospice. Their determination and teamwork not only got them through a very muddy event but also raised an incredible amount, which will make a real difference to the patients and families we care for across Cardiff.”
